In a creative and collaborative effort, MYP 4 and 5 students as well as students in DP1 created a newspaper that reflects their views of the world and highlights the issues that are important to them. This project enabled the students to develop their writing and critical thinking skills, as well as their ability to work as part of a team.
The students researched, wrote and edited articles on a wide range of subjects. The newspaper features a variety of sections, including current affairs, an interview, school news and more.
The students also had the opportunity to conduct an interview, giving a voice to the people involved and adding an authentic dimension to their article. You can find the interview with a former helicopter pilot on a mission in Kosovo and the former Yugoslavia conducted by Tom, a student in MYP5, by clicking on the following link : https://me-qr.com/fr/music/14376724
The creation of this newspaper was a valuable learning experience for the students at International School 33. Working together, they also learned the importance of listening, collaboration, and democratic decision-making.
The project also provided them with a unique opportunity to learn about the world of publishing and journalism, giving them an insight into the different stages involved in creating a quality newspaper.
The newspaper created by the students has had a significant impact on the school community. It has enabled students and teachers to keep up to date with news and activities at the school. It has also fostered a sense of pride and camaraderie within the school. Readers will appreciate the quality of the content and the work of the students.
