MUNCONNECT : An unforgettable international experience.
A logical follow-up to the Geneva YMUN

From 15 to 24 June 2025, students from International School 33 and the IS33 association took part in the MUNCONNECT - United for a Better Future, an Erasmus+ mobility programme organised in Bordeaux. This project enabled around fifty young people from France, Romania, Turkey, Cyprus and Palestine to experience a Model United Nations combining diplomatic debates, intercultural exchanges and local immersion.

Before this week full of discoveries, our students had already had the opportunity to represent IS33 at the prestigious YMUN Europe IV in Geneva, organised by Yale University. This first experience awakened in them a keen interest in international relations, public speaking, cooperation between cultures and the search for peaceful solutions to global issues. Today, the MUN activity is an essential part of their career path, and valued both in their personal development and their CV for future or university projects.

A week of diplomatic excellence

During MUNCONNECT week, participants carried out a wide range of activities. genuine diplomatic sessions These included country presentations, drafting and voting on resolutions, working in blocks, motions and debates, all in a demanding but friendly atmosphere, guided by young people who were already experienced and, above all, highly motivated. They were able to accompanying foreign delegations with professionalism, They show their mastery of the MUN rules, but also their sense of welcome and dialogue.

An exceptional setting in Bordeaux

The venue chosen for the conferences, the’Ermitage International School Bordeaux, With its large 19th-century house, 1,800 m² garden and flexible spaces for meetings, the setting was ideal. Accommodation at the’hotel Eklo, It was an experience to match. The programme also included cultural discoveries (museums, Dune du Pilat, Capucins market, Bassin des Lumières) and convivial events (barbecue, traditional dances, shared meals, closing ball, etc.).

Enhanced skills, vocations revealed

As the days went by, the young people strengthened their autonomy, their confidence in speaking, their English, while forging strong links across borders. Some have come away transformed: one of them has even decided to reorienting your academic career towards a double degree in IT and international relations, This is proof of the profound impact of this initiative.

This project was an opportunity to forge strong links between young people from different backgrounds and to strengthen their commitment to citizenship.
